How soon should I book?
We take on one wedding per week so I suggest checking our availability as soon as you have a date and a venue booked. For weddings, I highly recommend booking your consultation and securing your order four-six months in advance, but feel free to contact me anytime to check availability. For celebration cakes about 4-8 weeks in advance should be plenty of time. If your event is less than 4 weeks away check availability and we will be happy to accommodate if our schedule permits.
I found a picture of a cake I absolutely love can you please copy it?
Short answer is no. This is pretty frowned upon by most artists and not much fun. Don't you worry! We will go over all the details of your event and design a cake that is unique and specially made just for you. We can certainly use that photo for inspiration though!
How much do you charge for a cake like this?
The cost of a cake is determined by many factors such as design time, decorating time, delivery and set up if needed, ingredients, and materials. In general, cakes start at $6 per serving.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Please bring color swatches and pictures. I can pull inspiration from attire, venue, pictures of cakes that interest you, invitations, décor, and pretty much anything else related to your wedding.
Do you offer tastings?
Absolutely! I offer individual tastings for $50 per couple. The cost of the tasting is happily applied to your wedding cake order.
Can you deliver?
Yes delivery is $3 per mile with a $50 minimum(only charged one way). There may be an additional fee for set up.
Do you offer sugar, gluten, vegan and nut free cakes?
We do offer sugar, gluten and nut free. However, the bakery is not free of these things so if you or your guest has a highly sensitive allergy be sure to warn them. To be completely allergy free a bakery can never have gluten or nuts or any allergen in the bakery, ever. With that in mind, the bakery is always thoroughly cleaned. We do not offer vegan goods, but have great referrals.
Do you have a storefront where I can walk in and buy desserts?
For now, custom orders only, although a future bakery is being considered.
I want cake, but I'm more of a pie person. Can you make me a pie instead?
My husband is more of a pie, cookie, brownie, candy, anything but cake person. So, you bet I can. I'm all about customizing the order to suit not only your design preferences, but your taste preferences. I once made a 3 tiered cake completely decorated in fondant except it was made with cookies, brownies, and snickers!
